Climate change and human rights are no longer separate agendas for procurement. This session explores what procurement excellence looks like when multiple impact drivers converge in real commercial decisions — across sourcing, contracting, supplier management and performance.
Key discussion points include:
- Why convergence is a procurement execution challenge, grounded in core competencies such as ethics, risk management, stakeholder engagement and commercial management
- How structural silos between “E”, “S” and “G” create fragmented judgement, conflicting supplier signals and competing KPIs
- Recurring risk patterns in practice, including the uncoordinated “triple ask” on suppliers and carbon-only decisions that miss wider impact
- How to move from convergence to execution through outcome-led risk prioritisation, commercial translation, and stronger supplier engagement
- Practical examples and case studies illustrating what convergence looks like on the ground
Participants will gain a clearer view of how to apply procurement fundamentals more coherently in a complex risk environment, and how integrating climate and human rights considerations can strengthen resilience, judgement and long-term value creation.
