SPP @ London Climate Action Week | Sustainable Procurement – Missing Link to Climate Action (UN Global Compact event)

Over the past year, SPP and our community have been supporting the UN Global Compact’s Coalition for Sustainable Procurement to shape an emerging framework on sustainable procurement.
The Framework addresses a gap by providing practical, scalable tools that help companies embed sustainability into sourcing decisions by translating ESG goals into procurement actions, integrating sustainability across the full cycle, and enabling teams to balance cost, risk, resilience, and impact at scale.
This work has been steadily evolving through dialogue, co-creation, and input from coalition members and partners like SPP. We are now at an exciting milestone.
During London Climate Action Week, a select group of CPOs, CFOs, CEOs, sustainability leaders, government representatives and industry associations will be invited to engage with the next stage of this framework. In this session, participants will engage with the Framework ahead of its global launch in September 2026 at New York Climate Week, test its relevance against real business challenges, and explore how procurement can create value beyond compliance.
Coalition context and background: Coalition for Sustainable Procurement
Date: 24 June 2026
Time: 02:00pm – 04:00pm BST
Type: In-person
This UNGC event is extended to key SPP community participants.
The format will combine presentations and interactive round tables, including one hosted by Kathrin Decker, Deputy Director of SPP. This will be a valuable opportunity to engage SPP Community members directly with the framework, contribute perspectives from practice, and help shape the next phase of development.
