SUMMARY:SPP Denmark | Adapting procurement strategies to meet CSDDD and drive sustainability
DESCRIPTION:***Register via this Teams link*** \n#Sustainability #SustainableProcurement #CSDDD #ResponsibleSourcing \nHow can companies adapt their procurement strategies to meet the evolving demands of sustainability regulations like the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)? \nThis directive is a game-changer\, requiring businesses to move beyond reporting and take proactive responsibility for identifying\, preventing\, and mitigating risks across their global value chains. \nJoin us for an inspiring event hosted by the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP)\, where leading experts and companies will share actionable insights into implementing sustainable procurement strategies that align with CSDDD and other regulatory frameworks. Discover how this directive is reshaping the way Danish businesses operate and driving the transition toward more responsible and resilient supply chains. \n\nWe’ll start with Line Knudsen from Keepers ApS\, who will introduce the CSDDD\, breaking down its objectives and key requirements. Line will explore how this directive signals a “call to action” rather than a “call to reporting\,” presenting both challenges and opportunities for Danish businesses.\nNext\, Tracy Nilsson from Novo Nordisk will discuss the integration of responsible sourcing into procurement processes. She outlines how Novo Nordisk identifies and manages risks\, works toward enhancing transparency in the global value chain\, and addresses various challenges. The conversation also underscores the importance of responsible sourcing in sustainability efforts\, setting the stage for the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and related initiatives.\nLast but not least\, Geraldine Bagger from DLF will share their company’s approach to integrating the CSDDD into a broader sustainability framework. Geraldine will highlight how DLF is planning to streamline processes and enhance organizational experiences while meeting the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EU Taxonomy. She will explore the rationale behind DLF’s strategy for engaging stakeholders both internally and externally\, emphasizing how this cohesive approach supports a unified and impactful sustainability journey.\n\nThe event will conclude with an interactive Q&A session\, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with the speakers\, share ideas\, and gain practical insights into navigating this evolving regulatory landscape. \nThis session is designed for procurement professionals\, sustainability leaders\, and anyone committed to adapting their strategies to meet the demands of CSDDD and beyond. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable perspectives and tools to help shape the future of procurement and sustainability for your organization. \n*** \n\nJoin the SPP Community for all events\, tools and Ambassador bonuses: sustainableprocurementpledge/register/\nJoin the discussions via our SPP Denmark LinkedIn Group: SPP Denmark \nAs with all SPP events and platforms\, we ask attendees for active\, respectful participation and to refrain from sales pitches and solicitation. We kindly ask you to read and adhere to the SPP Netiquette (www.spp.earth)\nThe event will be recorded and shared on the SPP YouTube channel: Sustainable Procurement Pledge – YouTube

SUMMARY:SPP Singapore | An Asian Context to Navigating Supply Chain Due Diligence Regulatory Requirements (EU CSRD / CSDDD) - Hybrid Event
DESCRIPTION:***This is a hybrid event – Please register accordingly*** \nIn person using the EventBrite link to receive information on the location: https://shorturl.at/jUYV3\nOnline using Teams Webinar link: https://shorturl.at/MC0q8 \nAfter the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive effective 5 January 2023\, the EU legislated the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive to take effect from 25 July 2024. \nIt introduces the obligation of companies to conduct human rights and environmental due diligence with respect to their operations as well as of their subsidiaries and business partners in their chain of activities. \nCSRD: Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (EU Directive effective 5 January 2023)\nCSDDD: Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (EU Directive effective 25 July 2024) \nCurrently\, businesses need to consider complex topics of resource scarcity\, trade tensions\, and regulatory pressure. These varied considerations are interlinked\, and interdependent\, and can disrupt even resilient supply chains. The time has come to address the due diligence requirements in value chains\, but companies within complex and multi-tiered supplier networks are facing more challenges than ever before. New regulations have amplified the importance of integrated risk management\, impact assessment and prioritization\, monitoring of operations in order to reduce environmental impacts and avoid any complicity with human rights violations. During the event\, experts from TÜV SÜD will introduce the typical requirements in Supply Chain Due Diligence regulations\, including the recent Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence within the European Union\, a global milestone impacting business across borders. We will also explore the interconnections with Sustainability Reporting requirements and focus on best practice measures which can support Asian companies towards a more sustainable procurement\, brand protection and legal compliance.

SUMMARY:Procure Innovation Dialogues 2024: Unlocking the Power of Procurement to Achieve the Climate Goals
DESCRIPTION:This event is collaboratively hosted by the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP) and the World Economic Forum (WEF). \nMeeting professed net-zero goals\, responding to market access changes (e.g. the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism)\, fulfilling reporting requirements (e.g. SBTi\, TCFD and CSRD) and capturing customers who are seeking low-carbon solutions – these are among the factors driving companies’ decarbonization activities. As the primary interface with suppliers and responsible for ensuring the quantity and quality at scale of necessary materials and energy resources\, procurement professionals are uniquely positioned to take the lead in implementing organizations’ climate agendas. In this increasingly influential role\, procurement leaders need new strategies\, capabilities and partnerships to be successful. \nBringing together a community of influential chief procurement officers (CPOs) and their C-suite partners\, the 2024 Dialogues aim to identify concrete approaches from leading companies and foster strong partnerships between CPOs and their senior partners\, recognizing the fact that transforming the procurement function requires high-level engagement and support both from within the organization and across supply chains. \nEvent date: Friday\, 20 September 2024\, 8:00-19:30\, EST. \nLocation: New York\, NY 10017\, United States. \nEvent format: Invite-only for CPO+1. \nEvent objectives: \n\nEnable knowledge-sharing among participants regarding innovation in procurement and showcase best practices\, success stories and lessons learned.\nDiscuss strategic approaches and tools for transforming the procurement function and supplier engagement activities.\nPromote the development of strong partnerships between CPOs and their senior partners dedicated to driving change and helping their organizations achieve their climate agenda.\n\nTopics that will be discussed on the day include supplier engagement\, carbon pricing\, navigating regulatory and policy uncertainty\, the business case for sustainability\, integration of innovation in value chains and closing the talent gap. \nFor more information please reach out to melissa@spp.earth
