SUMMARY:Turning Scope 3 Ambition into Action — Building Governance to Drive Real Progress
DESCRIPTION:25 March\, 19:00-20:00 EDT | 26 March 00:00-01:00 CET | 07:00-08:00 SGT | +++ Register here (it’s free!): Registration link +++ \nDelivering meaningful Scope 3 decarbonization requires more than ambition — it requires effective governance that enables cross-functional ownership and sustained action. Sustainability teams often struggle to secure engagement and buy-in from other functions\, manage trade-offs and translate climate objectives into coordinated action across the organization. \nIn this session facilitated by Impact Pathways\, procurement and sustainability professionals engaged in the Scope 3 Peer Group will introduce a practical Scope 3 governance framework developed by Peers for Peers. Understanding this isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution\, the framework reflects what is working in companies\, regardless of industry\, business model or Scope 3 maturity. Participants will hear directly from procurement leaders who are rolling up their sleeves\, shaping the framework and applying it to drive progress within their own organizations and supply chains. \nParticipants will leave with insights on why governance is necessary to  enable and accelerate Scope 3 progress\, examples of how companies are approaching cross-functional ownership and accountability\, and practical considerations for strengthening internal alignment on value chain decarbonization. \n+++ \n\nWSPD is run as an SPP community event. SUMMARY:SPP Carbon Pricing for Procurement Initiative: Pilot Group Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This event series is designed for participants of the SPP Carbon Pricing for Procurement Initiative who are wanting / willing to pilot the Carbon Pricing Principles for Procurement – or already doing so. \nThe Carbon Pricing for Procurement Initiative is a transformative effort aimed to accelerate global supply chain decarbonization. A cross-industry group of Chief Procurement Officers and Procurement Leaders have join forces to accelerate the sustainable procurement transition and best utilize the unique influence and huge lever for change that their role and the whole procurement profession has in sustainable development. \nCentral to this initiative is the collaborative creation of an actionable framework that enables Procurement professionals to incorporate carbon considerations into decision-making. By addressing the opportunities and challenges of integrating carbon pricing into procurement decisions\, these principles aim to promote meaningful reductions in emissions while supporting suppliers in their sustainability journeys. \nIn January 2025\, SPP released the draft Carbon Pricing Principles that were developed in close collaboration with over 235 industry leaders\, including Chief Procurement Officers\, sustainable procurement heads\, and champions from SPP’s Champions Program across diverse sectors. This collaborative effort lays the groundwork for the series of Pilot Group Meetings in 2025 aimed at expanding best practices and providing implementation support. \nIf you are already a part of the Pilot Group\, individual calendar invitations will be provided to you directly\, if you are missing the invite\, please write to kathrin@spp.earth. \nIf you are interested in joining the initiative\, learn more about the Carbon pricing for Procurement initiative on our website and sign up here.
